This changes things because Connor was more careful around Roland, he made sure that he’s always on guard and he made sure that he has patience to be able to control himself around Roland. With Roland’s intention being not just fight Connor but also kill him, Connor would have probably been killed by Roland. This realisation is important because if Risa did not realise that Roland is planning to kill Connor, Connor would never have thought of it like that and would have eventually gave in to Roland’s bait and tried to get in a fight with him.
